First off, I want to express my sincerest gratitude to everyone who helped me and others make it through 2020. Yoga has always been a rock in my life, and being able to share the practice during challenging and uncertain times has helped me stay grounded and hopeful, calm amidst the storm. I felt like I didn't always have the right words to say, but I also realized not everything must be put into words to be understood and appreciated. Thank you for showing up online and in-person. Thank you for the brave students who were the first ones to try my self-paced Intro to Arm Balances course. Thank you for being flexible (pun intended) and adapting along with me as things changed almost daily.
We can celebrate the good things about this year and still honor the great amount of loss and pain that many humans around the world experienced. The truth is pain, tragedy, and death are all a part of the human experience, and they always will be. Perhaps this year we were all challenged to face it and feel it on a much grander scale.
What happens when the collective consciousness is feeling sadness or pain all at the same time? It feels heavy. It feels like the weight of the world on your shoulders. It can feel hopeless at times, like the dark days are getting darker, and you are unsure if lightness will ever come back.
Although it may have felt like the theme of this year was doom and gloom, I know we are pulling out of it and set the tone for a better theme this year. I feel hopeful because I see others are hopeful. We have been kicked down, but we are resilient and strong. We may be creatures of habit but we are also highly adaptable beings!
We must continue to contribute light and hope and LOVE because each individual thought/intention sends out a vibration that causes a change in the collective consciousness. Yes you. Your mind carries tremendous power in shaping your reality and the world around you.
You usually feel the shift around this time every year, right? More people feeling hopeful and inspired all at the same time. I think it is even stronger than ever. Believe good times are coming, that there are brighter days ahead, and we are manifesting it together. We got this.
Be kind. Do good.
Love,
Sarah
